Whinlatter Forest Photography Workshop Day

The most important thing is that we could practice and try everything that Steve told us about. Theory that might seem difficult to understand sometimes becomes simple and understandable when you put it into practice immediately in real conditions at a real spot

If you have a little longer to spare and would like to immerse yourself in the beautiful woodland environment that makes Whinlatter so unique, why not join one of my day workshops?

These 10am - 4pm workshops are designed for individuals and small groups (maximum of 8 people) who want to take their photography to the next level.

Course participants use their own equipment - from an ipad to a full-frame digital SLR, it doesn’t matter what you use, just bring what you’re comfortable with and I’ll help you get the most out of your photography equipment.

During the course of the day we’ll have plenty of time to visit a series of nearby locations to explore different elements and techniques of landscape photography. We’ll have opportunities to look at composition, exposure, exploring the relationship between ISO, shutter speed and aperture settings, getting to grips with your histogram, learn how to ‘work the scene’ and a host of other quick tips and techniques. You’ll have a chance to put your new skills into practice, get your images reviewed (if you want to) and have some one-to-one time with Steve.

Refreshments (tea/coffee) is provided at lunchtime. You are welcome to bring your own refreshments and packed lunch or better still, use the on-site Siskins cafe where you’ll get a great choice of food and drinks in a wonderful and relaxing forest environment.

A Whinlatter Forest workshop day will cost just £60.00 per person.

Some points to note:

1 - It would be really helpful for you to get to know your camera settings before the workshop. This will help you get the most from your session although I am, of course, available to help with any issues that arise throughout the day.

2 - If you have any mobility or health needs that you feel might impact on your enjoyment of the workshop, please let me know beforehand and I’ll do my best to help. Please remember to bring strong footwear, waterproofs and clothing suitable for the weather and time of year. Your camera equipment including a tripod if you have one, a notebook and please remember to fully charge your batteries and/or bring spares! You’ll need sufficient food for your day (or visit the onsite Siskins cafe - not included) and you might want to carry a drink with you.
